What you should pack will depend on whether you arrive during the Summer or the Winter. Truckee Tahoe is a playground of activities for all ages, so pack according to season and planned activities, and come prepared to face the Winter Elements, including Traffic Delays on HWY 80. If snow is expected, have a full tank of gas, snacks, and water on hand, and keep an eye on Caltrans!
Once your vacation is booked, you will receive the following emails (or messages if Airbnb):
- Booking Confirmation.
- Docu-Sign Guest Agreement, which must be filled and submitted within 48 hours.
- Check-In/Out Details, 5 days prior to arrival (PDF attached).
- STR Rules, imposed by Town & County. Emailed 2X (2 Days & 1 Day prior to Arrival).
Tahoe Alpenglow Properties and Home Owners work together to provide the beginning supply of the following essentials based on occupancy:
- Heavily Stocked Kitchen Meeting Our “TAP Inventory List” consisting of 50+ items, and all Dinnerware, Glassware, Pots & Pans. (“Specialty Items” such as Crock Pot, Rice Cooker, Air Fryer, Water Purifier, are NOT included). Note: The overwhelming majority of Guests feel our homes are stocked better than most they have rented, and this is oftentimes in reviews!
- Coffee Machine & Coffee Grinder (No Coffee / No Filters)
- Trash Bags
- Blue Recycling Bags
- Toilet Paper (3 Rolls/Bathroom)
- Fresh Kitchen Sponge
- Dish Soap
- Kitchen Towels
- Paper Towel
- Hand Soap
- Dishwasher Detergent
- Laundry Detergent
- Pump Hand Soap, Shampoo & Body Wash
- White Bath Towels (In-Home Use Only), Hand Towels, Face Towels

- Space Heaters / Fans (When No Ceiling Fans)

- Cable Television, Smart TV’s, Internet, Landline (Varies By Home)

- Emergency/Backup: Med Kit, Flashlights, Lightbulbs & Batteries
WE DO NOT STOCK: Tissue Boxes, Bar Soap, Ziplock Bags, Aluminum Foil or Saran Wrap, Coffee or Filters (Although some of these items may have been left by past guests).
+ WINTER:
- BBQ’s are in the garage to avoid damage. May use in driveway. If you place on deck, you must place back in garage at departure to avoid fines as 2 employees are needed to return to garage.
- Snow Shovels / Broom (to sweep water from cars out of garage)
- Ice Melt/Sand (Varies By Home)
- Winter Driveway Snow Plow Service (Requests Cannot Be Made)
- Winter Shoveling Service: Bear Box, Garage Berm, Pathways, Hot Tub (Requests Cannot Be Made)
+ SUMMER:
- No AC. It’s very rare that a home will have Air Conditioning. To keep a home cool just open windows at dark, then shut them first thing in the morning. (Fans Provided)
EACH TAP RENTAL MUST MEET OUR “TAP MANDATORY INVENTORY LIST” THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HOME.
If you require something specific, please Contact Tahoe Alpenglow Properties so we may attempt to further assist you. We suggest that you bring anything unique that you may require, as well as extra toiletries, bath soaps, games, or other comfort essentials. If a home is part of a homeowner association, you may or may not have a Guest Access Card for the use of amenities such as beach facilities, picnic areas, clubhouses, tennis courts, golf, hot tubs and pools.
